An overview of the relationship between the foot and the core

Movement Professionals - join us for this first in a three-part series of learning experiences with Threes! During this live virtual event you will learn how foot position influences the alignment and function of the entire lower body and impacts the shape and integrity of the core canister.

With a live lecture and movement practice component, you can expect to learn and implement new strategies to immediately experience a difference in your feet, body and movement.

Class Format

These 60-minute learning sessions for movement professionals offer great opportunities to bolster your teaching and learn new strategies and cues that you can use right away!

  • 20 minutes of lecture and learning

    Emily will share an evidence-based lecture on the impact of the foot on core stability and movement efficiency, and the power behind effectively cueing the foot.

  • 25 minutes of movement

    Giulia will lead an engaging movement practice, personally guiding you to experience new alignment, stability strategies, and intentional cues.

  • Q+A Session

    Connect with the Threes Team and ask any questions you may have about the content, how to integrate it, or how to best share with your students and clients.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the foundational anatomy, structure and function of the feet

  • Understand the tripod foot's influences on the lower limbs and the resulting impact on key body system components, including core canister function, trunk stability, posture, movement quality, breathing, and stress

  • Understand the components of the core canister, the foot-to-core connection, and how each impacts the other

  • Gain new cues and techniques to build awareness in your ability to sense the feet, feel the ground, and form a more stable and adaptable base for movement
